A few Hilton Head, SC favorites

My husband and I tend to spend some time in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

There are a few reasons why we love to come here. Its perfect for families or even a couple getaway. The beaches are beautiful and last but not least, the Island has a lot of different foods to offer!

The first one is that the beach in itself is just beautiful! Its much different than what I am use to from the Oregon Coast. The Oregon Coast has a lot of cliffs and its really really rocky! But here at HH, its flat, easy to access and the sand feels amazing between my toes!

If you don't plant your vacations around good food places, you should! I wouldn't want to visit somewhere that does not offer different foods than at home! This is a big one for my husband and I. I never use to be a "foodie" until I married my husband, but I enjoy trying things and eating food food!

If you are looking for a breakfast place where the locals go to, I would head over to Palmetto Bay Sunrise Cafe. You can check out their website right here www.palmettobaysunrisecafe.com.

You might want to make sure you plan time because there can be a 20-30 minute wait depending on the time you arrive and if its a busy season.  I can only attest to the breakfasts because that is the only time that we have went there. But it has never disappointed.

I usually order the low carb scramble that's filled with veggies and ham pieces. My husband usually gets the Country Fried Steak.

See photos below

On the island, there's a restaurant called Slap Fish.  Check out the website.  We have driven by it quite a few times but never went in because we had our kids with us. Trying a brand new place with kids, sometimes can backfire, and so we waited until a trip with just the two of us!

You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. I thought that the prices were a little high, but it was more gourmet "fast food". I have no complaints and nor did my husband!

My fish taco was so pretty that I didn't want to eat it! The slaw was pretty tasty too. I love Cole slaw!

My husband got the Shrimp Roll and enjoyed it.

Another new restaurant we tried was called Bad Biscuit. Here is the website that you can check out

We were not too sure what to expect since its off of the beaten trail and back a ways from the main road. But when we walked in, the man at the counter was really helpful and there were quite a few people in there. He said we could also sit in the back. We walked back there and it was another full spot of chairs and tables. It looked like it use to be a bar of some sort.

There were really neat things on the walls, memorabilia's of different things.

Our food was delivered to us and my husband liked the insides of the biscuit. He ordered the Hot Shot Chicken since he does like spicy chicken biscuits.

I ordered the Bad Benny with Keto bread in stead of a biscuit.

The taste of everything and the service was good. Id try it again for sure.

This past summer, my husband and I celebrated our one year marriage anniversary and he took me to Skull Creek Dockside. Check out the website here https://www.docksidehhi.com

Make sure that you schedule a waiting time or call and see how long the wait is. I think we waited about 40 minutes. While we waited, we looked in their shop and walked out onto the dock. Its a really pretty view at dusk. Our table was located outside I'm guessing in the overflow section, but it worked out perfectly because the night was gorgeous.

I ordered Salmon, mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband ordered a sea food type plate with scallops, crab cake and shrimp. It also came with rice and green beans.

It was really good and Id go back when its just the two of us.

There are so many more restaurants to love in Hilton Head but these are just a few that are my favorites. At another time, I will share more.

Make sure you leave a comment if you have been to other restaurants on the island that we should try or that are YOUR favorite!
