Fretting about EVERYTHING!?!

Fretting: be constantly or visibly worried or anxious.

I have a huge downfall.  That downfall is when i get overwhelmed, I am OVERLY anxious and I fret, about everything that comes to mind.  It affects my mind all the way to my body, how it physically feels. It doesn't feel good at all.

My mind is feels like a bunch of tangled up Christmas lights that wont even turn on when plugged in.

An absolute mess.

It feels like a never ending loop of worrying about this and that and then back to the first thing over and over and over again like a record spinning around faster and faster! Its NOT a ride I want to keep being on! For years I would chalk it up to "it runs in my family" or "it's just me, its what I do, it's just HOW i am"

But here lately I have begun to question and wonder, why DOES it have to be like that?

DOES it have to be like that?

I know that the God I serve does not want me to feel like this!

Being a wife and a parent to 5 children, I have many things that I wonder about AND of course fret comes into play. When you wonder, that is different than having a worry or concern or anxiety about.

Wonder: curious, admiration and amazement.

We need to make sure that when we are wondering about these different things about our own married futures and the futures of our children, we need to make sure that it does not include fretting.

Now this is something that I am learning every single day, and this is something that even my husband is reminding me of. Thankfully he's my helpmate that's my sound mind here on earth when I need to talk through things!

WE ARE NOT ALONE

Psalms 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (KJV)

Psalms 37:1, 8

FRET not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

When David in the bible wrote, he was a real person like us. He went through things just like you and I did. But we need to remember people were trying to come at him and actually KILL HIM! The Valley and the shadow- that works because death was seriously all around him. He kept saying fret not, fret not!

The point is, we shouldn't worry. There has been and will be reasons why we might worry but the bible says to fret not.

He hears us

Psalms 3:4

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

Psalms 4:3

But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord with hear when I call unto him.

Psalms 5:3

My voice shall thou hear in the morning. O lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee and will look up.

Psalms 6:9

The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.

The writer of Psalms is calling upon the importance of the fact that God heard them then and God even hears us now in our trials, tribulations, joys, blessings.

He is near us.

Think about it this way. In order for someone to hear us, they need to be close to us in order to hear us or vise versa. In  James 4:8 it says: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands ye sinners,: and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Cleanse your hands means that you are living a life that is having a good reputation and that your reputation is following what your testimony is. You have cleaned yourself of being dirty of the ways you were living and the choices you were making and now you are walking in the way of the Lord and you have been saved the on Romans road! (not sure what that is, feel free to send me a message or comment below!)

Purify your heart is really as like 1 John 1:9. It states : If we confess our sins, he is FAITHFUL and JUST to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.

Double Minded: wavering in mind : undecided

James 1:9 A double minded man IS unstable in ALL his ways.

Truthfully friends, if you want the Lord to hear you. And if I want  the Lord to hear ME when I am having those weak times of fret and not trusting the lord, this is when I really need him near me the MOST. But how will he be near me if I am constantly fretting and not letting him near me? Its hard for that to happen right?

Philippians 4:6

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Be careful in Hebrew means: to be anxious, to be troubled with cares, to care for, look out for ( a thing)

The bible says to not be anxious, to not be troubled, to not look for things or not be troubled by things!

But instead we are to go to God in EVERYTHING.

The thing is, worry has no power or control to change things going on around us, things in our hearts or in our minds.

The ONLY one who has the power to do that is GOD.
