Our family has a tradition when we go to Myrtle Beach and that's to hit up the retro arcade that is at 10111 N kings HWY. You will find this gem tucked away in a pretty much dead mall.
This arcade is owned by and next door to the store Players Choice. I will get to that in a minute!
The arcade reminds me of those movies where the groups of friends meet up and place quarters on the games they are playing and try to beat high scores on the screen! Gives a Kind of like feeling of the show, Stranger Things
Much like the Era I grew up in. Yes I am dating myself here!
The best thing about the arcade games is that they are just a quarter per play! No you don't get prizes but you do get to play some really awesome and some pretty vintage games that you cannot find anywhere else.
My personal favorite games are the pinball games. I may not be that great at them but it just brings back memories going to pizza places and playing these old school ones, hearing the neat music and sounds they play and also the flashing lights!
They frequently trade out the retro pinball games they have and it's fun to see which "new" one we get to play the next time!
Now if you go right next door, they have more retro games you can play inside thier main store.
It has pretty much anything a gamer would want from comics, stuffies of games, posters, t-shirts, video game consoles and games for those consoles.
Some people like to play and collect card games, this place has those!
We just really love coming here when ever we are in Myrtle Beach because it shows our kids the type of Era we grew up in and it brings us back to it just for a little while!
Plus, it feeds the inner geek in us!
Check them out if you get a chance!
